No Diapers and Baby Chickens

Well I decided that I am going to update this bad boy a lot more often. Because I am over thinking that I am going to one day write all these things down about our life and our kids and have them in a neat and tidy book on the shelf. That will never happen. So I am going to make an effort to record these things here, for anyone who is interested in hearing anything from funny kid stories to what is happening in the mind of Me.
As of late, I have been forgetting to bring diapers with me for Sam. I fully know he is not potty trained, however I have forgot diapers on many important occasions...such as, on the airplane on our trip hom from Alaska. One diaper (the one he was wearing) for 12 hours or traveling? hmmmmm............... Fortunatly we had no major mess. He actually went in the potty for the 4 hours he wasn't wearing a diaper, and then I finally scored a princess pullup to last until we got home. No such luck at the zoo however.
We went to the Indianapolis Zoo with Addi's preschool for a year end trip, and soon after arriving there, one by one I began to think of things I did not bring: camera, lunches, diapers. Fantastic. Oh yeah, and jacket for me, since it was dumping rain. (Luckily our disorganization came though for once, and I was able to score a fleece of Jeremy's buried in the back of the car.)
As we went along in the rain, Sams diaper began to sag more and more as I wondered how long I could actually leave it on him. He tried to potty once, to no avail, and somehow when I pulled his diaper back on him I didn't pull it up high enough in the front, so his little wee wee was actually sticking out of the top of his diaper. I only found that out after he peed all over me and himself. As we ate our lunches (I scored us a hot dog from the zoo cafe) in our car with the rain pouring down outside, Sam announced several times, "Mama, doo." Which can mean anything from please or thankyou, to shoe or juice, or poop and pee. But this time he was telling me he had to poop. So, I made him try to poop in a plastic bag. Ha! Thank goodness he couldn't do it. I don't know what I would have done with a stinky bag of poo in the pouring down rain. How would I explain it to the other Mommies? I'd have to say at that moment I was quit glad that I am not a stay at home mom in Carmel. I think I might be kicked out. Well anyway, I got up the nerve to ask another Mom for a diaper, and fortunatly the rest of the zoo trip got rained out, and we went home early, and Sam pooped happily in his diaper on the way home. The End, for now
